Artist's Description

I've grown tired of the kind of portraits that I've recently created. However, I want to keep exploring abstract impressionistic styles. So, I am backing up from the subject and focusing a little on the overall figure. This male figure is my first attempt.

I also went a little larger with this piece. It is 10,800 x 16,200 pixels, or 36 x 54 inches printed at 300dpi.
My thinking is that a slightly larger size canvas allows me a little more room for experimentation. There is a hard limit on how small brush strokes can get before they disappear. The upper limit on canvas size is a little more flexible - although, at nearly 4GB, this project did get a little challenging for my rig to manage.
